Description
There are many athletic teams named the Bulldogs, but none
match the steadfastness of Mississippi
State University's
English Bulldog, aptly named "Bully". Our representation of the State symbol stands
proudly behind MSU's logo.
Many may be surprised to discover that Mississippi
State's bulldog wasn't the official
school mascot until 1961. Before that, the university's athletic teams had shared
interchangeable monikers such as Aggies, Maroons and Bulldogs since 1905. It
was in 1935 that an official game mascot, Ptolomy the Bulldog, became the
football team's mascot.
Since then, succeeding Bulldogs have been named Bully. Our
Bully is made of premium cast stone and complemented by MSU maroon, although
you may order him in classic vintage or rich bronze finishes as well. Have him with you on
your own State tailgate or in the den as you cheer on the Dawgs (with your
Official Cowbell, of course). Hail State!
